Catholic Singles of Greater Washington’s annual celebration of Singles Sunday will be on Sunday, June 5 starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at 400 Michigan Ave NE in Washington, DC.
We begin with a docent-led tour of the Basilica at 1:30 p.m. (meet at the Information Desk on the lower level of the Basilica's East Side adjacent to the Gift Shop), followed by Mass at 2:30 p.m. celebrated by our chaplain, Father David Beaubien. Mass will be in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel on the lower level of the building. During Mass, a collection will be taken as our donation to the Shrine. Following Mass, we will walk to nearby Caldwell Hall on the campus of Catholic University for an Italian dinner at 4 p.m., followed by a short talk given by Father on the meaning of Pope Francis’ statement on the family, “Amoris Laetitia,” as it relates to singles.
For dinner, the buffet menu includes salad, lasagna, baked ziti, garlic bread, rolls and butter, cookies and brownies, and ice water and iced tea.
RSVP and advance payment required for dinner. The payment deadline of June 1 has passed; if you RSVP/pay late, we will try to accommodate you (call Greg at 301-906-9422). Cost for dinner after June 1 is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers.
RSVPs are required even if you plan to only attend Mass, as the Chapel space is limited.
